A forever favorite

Stardew Valley

The farming game everyone recommends. In co-op you share one farm, one calendar and, by default, one bank account.

Why couples might love it

Co-op works because the jobs split naturally. One of you fishes and mines, the other plants and sells, and you meet back at the farmhouse at night. The shared wallet turns every purchase into a joint decision, which leads to some real negotiations about sprinklers.

You can marry each other in-game. A season takes a few evenings of real time, so there’s always a next goal: the greenhouse, the community center, a barn full of animals.

What you actually do together

  • Plan the farm layout (expect a debate about where the barn goes)
  • Split the work: crops, fishing, mining, getting to know the town
  • Raise animals and finish the community center bundles
  • Clear the mines together on rainy days

Best for

  • Couples who want a long-term shared project
  • One experienced player and one newcomer
  • Long-distance couples on the same platform

Things to know before playing

  • Your partner needs a cabin on your farm. Build or place one before inviting them.
  • Money is shared by default. You can switch to separate wallets.
  • The day only ends when everyone goes to bed, so expect a few 1:50am sprints home.
  • The mobile version is single-player.

Our verdict

Still the standard for cozy co-op. If you only play one game together, this is a good one to pick.
