Why couples might love it

You chop, your partner cooks, nobody washes the plates, and two minutes later you’re either arguing or celebrating three stars. Levels are short, so the arguments are too.

There are no real stakes, which makes it a safe place to find out who likes giving orders and who likes following them.

What you actually do together

  • Split the jobs: chopping, cooking, serving, washing up
  • Shout orders across a kitchen built on two moving trucks
  • Replay levels to earn three stars

Best for

  • Couples who enjoy chaos
  • Game nights with friends (up to four players)
  • Short sessions

Things to know before playing

  • It gets stressful. Assist Mode gives you more time per level.
  • This edition includes both Overcooked games, remastered, with cross-play.
  • If one of you hates time pressure, start with something calmer.

Our verdict

Not cozy, but memorable. Play it in a good mood and take breaks.
